Digital Radiography
In November 2007, Stack Veterinary Hospital converted to Digital Radiology. With this conversion, our doctors and staff can take and view digital x-rays of our patients, and quickly decide if the image is diagnostic or not. We feel that this is an invaluable tool that will benefit both our patients and staff for years to come.

Setting up for a Radiograph
As well as being efficient, Digital Radiology allows for our doctors to zoom in and out of of the image, and change the contrast to lighten or darken the field. This enables us to focus on precise aspects of an image and increases our viewing capability.

Digital Radiography also saves time for our clients. Previously, if an image did not meet standards, our technicians would have to adjust the setting, re-take the radiograph and then develop it. This process would take an additional 15-20 minutes. Now, an accurate image can be taken in less than 2 minutes thus minimizing exposure, reducing stress on our patients, and saving time for our clients.
Another benefit of Digital Radiography is that the image is saved in the clients computerized account. With the old version, films were at risk of being bent or lost in the mail. Now we can view the original image at any time in the future. We can also share the image with a board certified radiologist for review anywhere in the country while your original copy remains safe at the hospital.

Overall, this conversion to Digital Radiology was a great investment to not only Stack Veterinary Hospital, but to our patients and clients as well.
