Wellness Exams

Regular wellness exams allow our veterinarians to evaluate your pet's general health and to become aware of any health problems before they become serious issues. Your veterinarian may also wish to perform diagnostic tests including bloodwork and/ or radiographs to evaluate your pet's health.

How often are wellness exams recommended?

Due to the fact that pets are unable to vocalize any concerns, we would like to see your pet at least once a year and more frequently when your pet enters his/her senior years. Also, because one human year is equivalent to roughly 5-7 years for a cat or dog, it is extremely important not to miss an exam.

Preparing for your visit...

During your pet's exam and to help address any possible health concerns, please note and discuss with your veterinarian any unusual behavior your pet may be displaying. This may include a change in appetitie, weight gain or loss, vomitting, diarrhea, coughing, sneezing, or an increase in drinking or urination. Your veterinarian may also wish to check for intestinal parasites so please remember to bring a fecal sample (no more than 12 hrs old) to your appointment.
